With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Matthew Carney of Harrison, Tennessee, born in Potsdam, New York, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 14, 2025 at the age of 54. He was predeceased by: his mother Patricia Carney. He is survived by: his father Robert Carney (Bob); his wife Christy Carney; his siblings, Suann and Alan (Nanette); his niece Erin (JJ); his nephew Austin (Nicole); his children, Spencer (Shannon) and Savannah (Matt); his grandchildren, Whitman, Boone, Swayze, Wylie and Ailee; his former wife Eva Carney; and his brother-in-law Tracy Jones.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Project Gallantly Forward, a veterans' non-profit retreat. Donations can be made at projectgallantlyforward.org.
