He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Newton and Elsie Cleo McNew Lane; his brothers, James "Jim" Lane (Janet) of LaFollette, Tennessee and Jesse Lane of Middlesboro, Kentucky; his brother-in-law Robert "Bob" Daniels of Paintsville, Kentucky; his siblings, Lillie Evans (Charles) of Ypsilanti, Michigan and Albert Lee Lane of Speedwell, Tennessee; his sister-in-law Brenda Lane of LaFollette, Tennessee; and his sister Janice Hurst of Speedwell, Tennessee..
He is survived by: his sister Ruby Daniels of Avon, Indiana; his sister-in-law Donnie Lane of Middlesboro, Kentucky; his siblings, Clyde Lane of LaFollette, Tennessee, Mary Lundstrom (Cliff) of Alpharetta, Georgia, Charles Lane of Speedwell and Anne Farmer (Ken) of North Tazewell, Virginia; his brother-in-law Roger Hurst, Sr. of Speedwell, Tennessee; his sister Tammy Buttery (Ernie) of Ewing, Virginia; and his close friend Kathy Lambert. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Visitation was held on Monday, September 7th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Arnett & Steele Valley Chapel (6340 Cumberland Gap Pkwy, Harrogate, TN 37752). A funeral service was held on Monday, September 7th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Lane Family Cemetery.
