He was predeceased by: his wives, Gwendolyn and Lora Lucille Young Majors; his stepson Joel Majors; his parents, Darsie and Jesse; and his siblings, Clara, Helen, Homer, John and Glenn.
He is survived by: his children, Karen Denise Edwards (Daniel) of Houston, Texas and Terry Lynn Edwards (Kim) of Krum; his stepsons, James Majors, Jr. of Rogers and Daniel Majors of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; his grandchild Terry; and his sisters, Mary and Martha. He is also survived by numerous step-grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 20th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Henderson Church of Christ (240 White Ave, Henderson, TN 38340). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 20th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, September 20th 2025 from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM at the Henderson City Cemetery (164 N Church Ave, Henderson, TN 38340).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Dr. Earl Edwards Endowed Chair for the Graduate School of Theology at Freed-Hardeman University or the Finger Church of Christ missions fund.
