He was predeceased by : his parents, Madison Montgomery Greer and Emma Butler Greer; his wife Maxine Key Greer; his son Brooks M. Greer; and his siblings, Socrates "Pot" Greer, Mary Frances, Leamon, Wallace, Frank of Odell, WH, Vernie, June Greer, George and Clinton Neal.

He is survived by : his daughter Vikki Greer Grissom of Paris; his grandsons, Caleb Grissom and Cayce Grissom; and his son-in-law Chris Grissom. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
