He was predeceased by: his parents, Frances Brooks and Jesse Brooks; his siblings, Dorothy Ann Vaughn, Jess Brooks, Jim Brooks and Donnie Brooks; his son-in-law Kirk Adkisson; and his granddaughter Sara Elizabeth Adkisson.
He is survived by: his significant other Bonnie Brooks of Hermitage; his brother Joel Brooks (Pam); his children, Deb Adkisson, Cindi Brooks and Charlie Brooks (Kate); and his grandchildren, David Brooks (Brittney), Shelbye Lynn (William) and Jeff Brooks (Caitlyn).
