She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Harrison Smith and Octa Viola Smith (Dockery); and her granddaughter Candace Dedman. She is survived by: her husband Melvin D. Hammer; her children, Greg Hammer (Mary Jo), Karen Ethridge (Jimbo), Janet Harper (Lonnie) and Jeff Hammer (Amy); her grandchildren, Chelli Mosier (Eric), Caitlin Hammer (Joshua Gay), Allyson Rogers (Joseph), Ashley Cremins (Jon), Dallas Hammer, Kristen Meadows (Landon) and Garrett Hammer (Braylan); and her great grandchildren, Will Dedman, Destiny Mosier, Blake Dedman, Maddox Mosier, Brooklyn Rogers, Joseph Rogers, Isla Hammer, Violet Gay, Carly Rogers, Olive Gay, Maddie Rogers and Lawson Meadows. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and special friends.
A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Hermitage Funeral Home (535 Shute Ln, Old Hickory, TN 37138). Visitation will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Hermitage United Methodist Church (205 Belinda Dr, Hermitage, TN 37076). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
