He was predeceased by: his parents, Paula Wharton and Robert G. Wharton; his stepmother Faye Wharton; his wife Bobbie Wharton; and his son Alan Wharton.
He is survived by: his brother Joe Dobson (Rita); his daughter Karen Mayo; his grandsons, Steven Craig (Kristen), Marc Mayo (Jerrica), Hunter Wharton (Whitney) and Corey Moffitt (Brian); and his great grandchildren, Wade, Sean, Hayden, Blake, Kinsley, Zeke, Zoe, Jud, Adley, Lyla Mae and Wyatt.
