He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman Caruthers and Martha Caruthers; and his sisters, Linda Morris, Ann Nichols, Roberta Garrett and Jean Smiley.
He is survived by: his close friend Hettie Marie Oliphant; and his children, Mitchell Caruthers (Marletta) and Julie Hoover (Ed). He is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
