We are sad to announce that, on January 10, 2026, at the age of 90, Beverly Carlson Smith of Hixson, Tennessee, born in Santa Monica, California passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur Carlson and Sue M. Carlson; her husband George Rhea Smith; and her daughter Cynthia Lee Rankin. She is survived by: her children, Jennifer Edwards (Lawrence), Beth Byrd (Ty) of Chattanooga and Byron Smith (Heather) of Hoover, AL; and her grandsons, Ryan Edwards (Amanda), Christian, Madison, Hamilton Byrd of Chattanooga, Preston (Leah) and Nick Smith of Hoover, AL. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may made to Red Bank Baptist Church.
