He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry B. Powell and Elizabeth R. Powell; and his sister Phyllis Lorene Powell. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Hixson Powell; his sons, Charles B. Powell, Jr. (Shellie) of Brentwood, TN and Gary L. Powell (Jennifer) of Nolensville, TN; his grandchildren, Hope, Faith, Joy, Grace, Luke, Alexis and Landon Powell; his sisters, Elizabeth P. Dyer of Chattanooga and Marjorie Bevil of Chattanooga; and his nephew Derek Bevil (Sara).
