David Layne Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of David Layne of Hixson, Tennessee, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 3, 2025 at the age of 85. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of David Layne to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Ray and Sylvia Marie Frizzell Layne; and his sisters, Joanne Gilreath and Barbara Grant. He is survived by: his wife Katherine Lucille Davidson Layne; his children, Gregg Layne (Robin) and Pam Templeton (Jody); and his siblings, Etcyle Layne (Velita), James Layne (Anita) and Ethyle Rothwell. He is also survived by six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, several extended family members and a host of friends.
Over the course of his life, he made lasting contributions to the Hixson and Red Bank communities through his work in utility management, construction, and skilled trade.
