He was predeceased by: his father Luther Herman Mayfield Sr.; his sisters, Alta, Norma Faye and Willa Dean; his son Michael; and his stepson Jon.
He is survived by: his wife Kaaren Mayfield; his sons, Karl (Renee), Kurtis (Karen) and Kris (Joann); and his stepchildren, Sue (Tony) and Kim. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces.
