He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Hilton and Margaret Hilton. He is survived by: his siblings, Margaret (Emelyn), Kenneth (Isis), Gordon (Winn) and Donald (Anne); his son John Szekely; his wife Paula; and his children, Jacqueline Andreasen (Dwayne), Ian Hilton, Rachel Hilton, David Hilton (Meghan), Andrew Hilton (Kristin), Matt Hilton (Lindsay), Adrienne Simpson (Paul), Vanessa Tripp (Tim), Jennifer Maddux (Lance), Michael Hilton (Tiffany), Scott Hilton (Brandi) and Chris Hilton. He is also survived by 28 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.
