He was predeceased by: his parents, Rufus Byron Shoemate and Eunice Lee Douglas Shoemate. He is survived by: his wife Lillian Sue Shoemate; his children, Susan Lee Painter (Bob), Thomas Gregory Shoemate (Lisa) and Karen Sybil Parrott (Scott); and his siblings, John Pelham Shoemate (Janice) and Mary Boston. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 18 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
