He was predeceased by: his parents, Jewell Melton, Sr. and Margaret Evans; and his brother Jewell Melton, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Frances Melton (Jenie); his daughter Heather Brinkley (Kirt); his grandchild Dean Brinkley; his sister Kathy Cooper (Sylvain); his nephew Chris Cooper; and his great-nephew Calvin Cooper.
