He was predeceased by: his parents, William David Leach and Nannie Moore Leach; and his siblings, Norma Tate, Voline Lannom, Tommy Leach and Foster Leach.

He is survived by: his wife Shelby Leach of Huntingdon, Tennessee; his children, Debra Eldridge (Russell) of Lexington, Terry Leach of Lexington, Jennifer Rice (Terry) of North Augusta and Buddy Leach II (Paula) of Huntingdon, Tennessee; and his grandchildren, Josh Eldridge, Will Eldridge, Sarah Eldridge, Jennifer Lee, Buddy Leach III, Brett Rice, Scott Rice and Amanda McClain. He is also survived by seventeen great-grandchildren.
