He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Carter and Opal Thompson Carter; and his grandson Adam Coleman Carter. He is survived by: his wife Willodean Coleman Carter; his children, Susan Lawrence (Reggie), Jennifer Rogers (Bill) and Jeff Carter (Amy) of Huntingdon; his siblings, Sylvia Cary of Huntingdon and William Carter of Somerville; his grandchildren, Benjamin Lawrence, Jonathan Lawrence, Isaac Carter and Meredith Todd; and his great grandchildren, Morgan Hight, Jack Lawrence, Magnolia Lawrence, Owen Lawrence, Corrie Lawrence, Ethan Coad and Maci Coad.
