He was predeceased by: his wife Dorothy A. Sanders; his children, Ray C. Sanders, Samuel C. Sanders Jr. and Sherry Jane Sanders; and his siblings, Reba Hall, Ravanell Britt, John Sanders Jr., Charles Kenneth Sanders, Paul Sanders, Naomi Dillahunty and Jean Barnhart.
He is survived by: his daughters, Samantha A. Gruszkowski of Crown Point and Sandra C. Sanders of Sarasota, Florida.; his grandchildren, Brittany M. Denton of DeMotte, Joseph D. Gruszkowski Jr. of Crown Point, Smolin Jr. of Fort Collins Colorado, Melissa S. Smolin of Nashville, Karla K. Frierson of Nashville and Zachary R. Sanders of Nashville; his great grandchild Teagan M. Denton of DeMotte, Indiana; his brother Dwight Sanders (Susan) of Huntingdon; his sister-in-law Amy Sanders of Huntingdon, Tennessee.; and his friend Kathie Parrish of McKenzie.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Long Rock United Methodist Church Cemetery (201 Asbury Cir, Huntingdon, TN 38344).
