He was predeceased by: his wife Imogene Gibson Hollifield; his son Anthony Douglas Hollifield; his grandchildren, Jerad Lee Hollifield and Travis Lee Hollifield; his parents, Will Hollifield and Bertha Sexton Hollifield; and his brothers, Charles Edward and Everett.
He is survived by: his sisters, Lois Phillips and Corine Patty; his children, Darlene (Johnny Allen), Polly Brown, Ronnie (Rebecca Hollifield), Ricky Hollifield, Scotty (Penny Hollifield) and Christopher Hollifield; and his sisters, Mary Helen Watson and Rachel Anderson. He is also survived by 7 Grandchildren, 28 Great-Grandchildren.
