He was predeceased by: his parents, Kermit Roosevelt "Mack" and Jenice Simpson (Kennedy). He is survived by: his wife Dorthula'Dot'Simpson; his children, Leanne Montgomery and David Simpson (Carla); his grandsons, Nathan Montgomery (Erica), Sam Montgomery (Erin), Noah Montgomery (Autumn), Nick Simpson and Zach Simpson; and his great grandchildren, Gray Montgomery and Reagan Montgomery.
