She was predeceased by: her parents, Herman Mathis and Ester Powers; and her husband Lamar Smith. She is survived by: her son Shea Brooks; her stepson Jason Smith (Stephanie); her daughter Danette Hardee (Keith); her stepdaughter Janna Hinely (Joe); and her siblings, Donnie Banks (Jeanie), Robbie Banks (Marlene) and Angie Smith (Ronald). She is also survived by ten grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family ask for donations to be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
