He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence A. Schultz and Celia Kull Schultz; his daughter Karen Harper; and his siblings, Melba Ruff and Ralph Schultz.

He is survived by: his wife Martha A. Schultz; his sons, John Schultz (Joanne) of Tinley Park and Kevin Schultz of Strasburg, Illinois; and his grandchildren, Chris Schultz (Elise), Samantha Schultz, Benjamin Harper, Logan Schultz and Lillian Schultz. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
