She was predeceased by: her parents, James Arthur Thrasher and Ruth Mae Franks Thrasher; her husband Martin Brooks; her daughter Betty Jean Maness; and her siblings, Troy Thrasher and Mae Jean Jackson.
She is survived by: her daughter Shelia Duncan Dean of Lexington; her half-brother Dalton Thrasher of Alabama; and her grandchildren, Dennis Duncan, Jr. of Lexington, Casey Duncan Rivers (Gregory) of Parsons and Matthew James Maness of Middleton. She is also survived by 10 great grandchildren.
