He is survived by: his brothers, Johnny Woolfolk (Pat) of Jackson, TN and Robert Lee Woolfolk (Nancy) of Murfreesboro, TN.; and his siblings' children, Scott Woolfolk (Cher), Amy Adkerson (Jeff), Matt Woolfolk (Erika), Megan Lee Leonard (Fergal) and Shannon Woolfolk.

His professional life was dedicated to serving as a Chemist with the Tennessee Department of Agriculture, where he made meaningful contributions to his field.

“So sorry to hear of Gary's passing. He was a great longtime member of the Nashville Ski Club. Having skied with him numerous times, but got to know him really well when we sailed 42 foot sailboats in Tortola BVI.. An avid UofT fan, 'you should of seen his Dodge Dart on football game days'. UT flags and all enroute to the hill in Knoxville. Always in a good mood and fascinating to talk with. He will be missed. RIP Mr. Gary. Bob & Lesa Skoney”
