He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph L. Johnson and Mary Zomparelli Johnson. He is survived by: his wife Kathy Lemler Johnson; his children, Nicole Pugh (David) and Anthony Johnson (Trevor); and his siblings, Howard Johnson (Sue), Jo Alph, Ralph Johnson, Jr. and Phyllis Holtzman.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
