It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Janetta Doris Haynes Smith (Jackson, Tennessee), who passed away on October 20, 2025, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Freddie Ross Haynes and Lucille Irene Wheatley Haynes; her sister Lynda Haynes Johnson; her aunt Geraldine Grissom; and her uncles, Bill Haynes and Harold Wheatley.
She is survived by: her husband Paul Herron Smith; her children, Tana Lea Smith Fleming (Barry Fleming), Jason Paul Smith (Suzy Mullins) and Tiffany Lynn Smith McSwain (Houston McSwain); her grandchildren, Lauren Fleming Paulos (Trevor), Emma Smith, Aaron Smith, Carter Smith and Haynes McSwain; her great grandchildren, Landon and Austin; her pet Buddy; her aunts, Betty Haynes and Betty Wheatley; and her sibling's children, Freddy (Sandra), David Teague (Cyd) of Jackson, TN, Kim Johnson Grubbs (Michael), Lora Johnson Clark and Lawrenceburg.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, November 2nd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the First Baptist Church (116 Bemis Ln, Jackson, TN 38301).
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to First Baptist Bemis' Children and Youth Ministry, a cause close to her heart. These donations can be directed to the church at 116 Bemis Lane Jackson, TN 38301 or given to her daughter, Tiffany.
