John Richard Kirkland Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John Richard Kirkland (Jackson, Tennessee), who passed away on January 23, 2026 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Carlyle Kirkland and Lee Nell Kelley Kirkland; and his brother Kenneth Kirkland. He is survived by: his wife Charlotte Kirkland; his daughter Kelley Kirkland Rowland (Joe); his granddaughters, Mary Virginia Rowland and Meredith Rowland; his stepsons, Justin Gatley (Bri) and Josh Gatley (Amber); his brothers, Carl Kirkland (Alice) and Russ Kirkland (Carey Ann); and his mother-in-law Polly Darnall (Mike). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Kirkland Cancer Center.
