She is survived by: her husband Bruce Dorris; her daughter Sara Billingsley (Jordan); her grandchildren, Case, Ira and Virginia; her brother Mark Roach (Shelley); her nephew Tyler; her mother-in-law Carol Dorris (late James Dorris); her brother-in-law Gary Dorris (Emily); and her nibling Laurel Moore (James).
After her retirement from teaching, she remained active through her work with such organizations as the Epilepsy Foundation and, most recently, she was a volunteer at Birth Choice.
