He was predeceased by: his parents, Julian Thomas Dunbar, Sr. and Winnie Davis Thompson Dunbar; his wife Virginia Claire Wehrle Dunbar; and his daughter Sandra Dunbar Reck. He is survived by: his children, Julie Dunbar Glenn, Leslie Dunbar Lewis, Elizabeth Dunbar Day (Betsy), Julian Thomas Dunbar, III (Tom) and Arthur Dunbar (Bruce). He is also survived by nine grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis or the Tennessee State Veterans Home in Humboldt.
