It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lamar Ray Childress in Jackson, Tennessee, who passed away on July 12, 2025, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. In the sacred silence of farewell, Lamar Ray is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that his light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of his loved ones. He was predeceased by: his parents, William Arthur Childress and Erfie Surles Childress. He is survived by: his wife Martha Ann Childress; his son Lamar Ray Childress, II (Stacy); his brother Thomas Earl Childress (Janet) of San Antonio, TX; and his grandchildren, Brennen and Aiden Childress.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, July 16th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home (403 E Baltimore St, Jackson, TN 38301). A graveside service was held on Wednesday, July 16th 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the BIG Springs Methodist Church Cemetery (744 Ozier Rd, Pinson, TN 38366).
