He was predeceased by: his parents, L. O. McNeil and Pauline Davidson McNeil; his wife Pauline Oliver McNeil; his daughter Rena Paulette Sells; and his brother Hugh Allen McNeil.
He is survived by: his son Tony McNeil (Connie) of Finger; his stepdaughters, Paula Ivy (Bobby) of Medon, TN and Pam Carle (Pau) of Medon, TN; his grandchildren, Sarah Grace McCaskill (Jordan), Andrew McNeil, Kristn Sells McDaniel (Michael), Nicholas Sells, John Ivy (Teppie), Josh Carle (Amanda) and Jason Carle (Felicia); his sister Jo Ellen Garner of Finger; and his son-in-law Jeff Sells of Mifflin, TN.. He is also survived by fourteen great grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 20th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Shackelford Funeral Directors Crook Avenue Chapel. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 20th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Shackelford Funeral Directors - Henderson Starts.
