He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Leo Bishop and Christine Virginia Marbury; and his son-in-law Jason Sargent. He is survived by: his grandchildren, Rachel Hale, Shelby Sargent, Rebekah Sargent, Trent Lackey and Eli Bishop; his great grandchildren, Elijah Hale, Wesley Hale, Kaysen Sargent, Olivia Douglas and Keeley Sargent; his children, Steve Bishop (Kim), Debbie Vaughn (Bobby) and Wanda Sargent; his brother Tom Marbury (Beth); his nieces, Natalie and Amy; and his nephew Alex.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that monetary or clothing donations be made to Tennessee State Veterans Homes.
