She was predeceased by: her husband James Franklin Patterson; her parents, Egward Smithy and Elsie Smithy; and her siblings, Nella, Sarah and Jack.
She is survived by: her sisters, Margie, Sue and Doris; her son James Paul; her daughter-in-law Sylvia Patterson; and her daughter Sheila Kay Bostic. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
