He was also cherished by 8 great-grandchildren.

All out-going, positive, entertaining people that one could not help but enjoy being with. A bit shyer, sometimes Wade and I would find ourselves in a corner talking quietly about our common interests, poetry, books ,politics, songwriting. I admired his keen intellect, warm smile and gentle ways. My heart goes out to Shila and the boys. .”
