He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Smith Hatchett; his children, Lisa Spencer (Brady) of Nashville, Cheryl Cochran (Greg) of Savannah and Keith Hatchett (Kim) of Jackson, Tennessee; his grandchildren, Nicholas Spencer, Alexandra Spencer, Shelby Hatchett, Brandon Hatchett and Bailey Hatchett; and his sister Jean Hatchett Johnson. He is also survived by his family, friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, September 19th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the George A. Smith & Sons Funeral Home (2812 N Highland Ave, Jackson, TN 38305). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A committal service will be held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at the Chapel Hill Baptist Church Cemetery (4850 TN-200, Lexington, TN 38351).
