He was predeceased by: his parents, William A. Simmons and Johnnie Peal Simmons; and his brother-in-law Huston Spence. He is survived by: his wife Patty Wells Cain Simmons; his children, Jan Knolton (Joey), Sue Fry (Ricky), Kay Coleman (Vance), Teresa Frommel (Eddie) and Allen Cain (Alice); his sister Barbara Spence; and his grandchildren, Trey Knolton (Brittany), Ashley Stewart (Ron), Mandy Harris (Sean), Lesley Manns (Lee), Michael Frommel (Annette), Stephen Frommel (A. J.) and Craig Frommel. He is also survived by great grandchildren, nephews, niece, and 1 great niece.
