He was predeceased by: his wife Lela Garrett Choate; and his parents, Porter Choate and Velva Smith Choate. He is survived by: his children, Greg Choate (Janet), Teresa Worrix (Jeff) and Tammie Hart (Bruce); his grandchildren, Alex (Katy), Breanna (Ethan), Will (Taylor), Taylor, Emily, Lane (Ashlyn), Lukas, Morgan, Grace, Nevaeh and Preston; and his great grandchildren, Lissi, Lexi, Easton, Ellison and Miracle.
Visitation was held on Sunday, April 27th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Monday, April 28th 2025 at 9:30 AM. A funeral service was held on Monday, April 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Caanan Independent Baptist Church (1730 Frank Campbell Rd, Jamestown, TN 38556).
