He was predeceased by: his parents, Ted Gunner Thomas and Eunice Dawson Thomas. He is survived by: his wife Shirley Faye Williams Thomas; his sons, Carl D. Thomas II (Kay) and Michael James Thomas (Audra); and his siblings, Jody Thomas (Jewell), Lois Ann Gold (Dale) and Joyce Hayes. He is also survived by six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
