He was predeceased by: his mother Josephine Robinson Barnett; his wife Emma "Blondie" Pickett Barnett; his father Thomas "Tom" B. Barnett; and his siblings, Billy Ray "Smokey" Barnett and Betty Jo Guy.
He is survived by: his daughters, Char Cheaves (Jim) and Brooke Swafford (Kenny); his siblings, Thomas L. Barnett, Doris Gravitt, Anna M. Rogers and Carolyn Durrow; his grandchildren, Amber Bailey (Beau), Summer Cheaves, Aidan, Ava and Bella Swafford; his great grandchildren, Addison, Maddox and Averi Bailey; and his close friend Barbara Meserve. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, other family members and special friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 16th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM, on Tuesday, June 17th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM and from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Tate Funeral Home (950 Mel Dixon Ln, Jasper, TN 37347). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 17th 2025 at 5:00 PM at the Chapel of Tate Funeral Home (950 Mel Dixon Ln, Jasper, TN 37347). A burial will be held on Tuesday, June 17th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the Whitwell Memorial Cemetery.
