He is survived by: his children, Herman Avans (Maggie) of Bridgeport, Ala., Christy Webb (Ryan Ware) of Kimball, TN. and David Avans (Penny) of Manchester, TN; his sister Helen Bradley; his grandchildren, Ashley Avans, Stephen Belk, Cameron Poe, Caleb Poe, Lucy Avans, Mathew Avans, Emily Avans, Airra Avans, Paul Avans, John McKelvey, Austin McKelvey and Skyler Akin; and his great grandchild Hadley McKelvey.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Jasper Memorial Funeral Home (150 Cornerstone Dr, Jasper, TN 37347). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
