Jean Baxter Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Jean Baxter of Jasper, Tennessee, born in Benton, Tennessee, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 23, 2026 at the age of 88. She was predeceased by: her parents, Burch Maynor and Lena Bell Maynor; and her siblings, Charles Maynor, Edna Rogers, Burch Maynor, Broughton Maynor, Peggy Chastain and Frank Maynor.
She is survived by: her husband Bill Baxter; her children, Tammy Smith (David), Tim Baxter (Karen) and Jan Egli (Roger); her foster son Ronald White; her grandchildren, Jeanne Swigart (Michael), Chelsey Smith, Brooke Bartow (Connor), Nick Egli (LaRae), Bradley Baxter (Keli), Tori Egli and Bailey Stogner (Sam); and her great grandchildren, John, Luke Bartow, Jones, Norah, Lois, Rowe Egli and Pearl Jean Swigart. She is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Bill Baxter Scholarship Fund at Builtwell Bank, 105 Betsy Pack Dr, Jasper, TN 37347 or to Hospice of Chattanooga - Jasper Office, 4930 Main Street, Jasper TN 37347, both in memory of Jean Baxter.
