He was predeceased by: his wife Deborah "Debbie" Jo Sims; his parents, Walter Jackson Sims and Ethel Bee Sims; his granddaughter Morgan Leigh Jones; and his siblings, Walter Jackson Sims, Jr. and Betty Sims Walker.
He is survived by: his children, Ronnie Sims, Cindy Gore, Michelle Stitley (Brian), Amanda Hamm (Jason) and John Campbell (Tammy); his siblings, Myrtle Dean Sims Sampley, Larry Sims (Louise) and Donnie Sims (Brenda); his grandchildren, Preston, Zach, Erin, Austin (Hannah), Lindsey (Blake), Sadie (Trey), Kimberly, Dylan, Brooklyn, Jackson and Kinley; his great grandchildren, Brentley, Tinley, Wrenley, Camden, Knox and Ellis; and his close friends, Gary Hooper and Lee Chambers. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
