He was predeceased by: his parents, Malcolm Hunter and Annie Belle Anderson Hancock; his daughter Deanna Lynn; and his sisters, Fran Wilson and Linda Hopper.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Kingsmill Hancock; his children, Jason Hancock and Aimee Cherie Shepherd (Bryan); his sister Bettye Schmidt (George); and his granddaughters, Maddy and Gigi Shepherd.
Visitation was held on Sunday, August 30th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and on Monday, August 31st 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home (1510 Madison St, Clarksville, TN 37040). A funeral service was held on Monday, August 31st 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Neal Tarpley Parchman Funeral Home (1510 Madison St, Clarksville, TN 37040).
