It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joy Drinnon Powell of Jefferson City, Tennessee, born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, who passed away on October 26, 2023, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was loved and cherished by many people including : her parents, James Earl and Franke Malone Drinnon; her son Bill IV (Amy); her grandchild Grandmommy; her husband William I. Powell III; her child Lynn Powell (Dan Stinebring); her grandchildren, Anna-Claire Stinebring (Adam Popp), Ida Powell (Ahmed Ibrahim), Will Powell (Katie Knapp), Jesse Stinebring (Zaib Rasool) and Stewart Powell; her great grandchildren, Lillian, Madeline Powell, Hoda and Mona Ibrahim; her sister-in-law Jane Howard (Charles); and her aide Ruth Millan. She was also cherished by numerous nieces and nephews.
The family requests no flowers and in lieu memorials may be made to a Food Bank of your choice.
