He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Jarnagin and Vaultie Miller Jarnagin; and his brother Roger Jarnagin. He is survived by: his wife Debra Jarnagin; his daughters, Lorrie Gay (Lee) and Sandy Gass; his close friend Robby Murphy; his sons, Daniel Rasnick (Margaret) and Allen Jarnagin (Becky); his grandchildren, Katie Rasnick, Jon Rasnick, Nicholas Wilson and Hayley Jarnagin; his great grandchildren, Zoey, Rylan and Mason; and his sister Kathy Johnson (Gary).

In Lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to the Carter County Animal Shelter at 135 Sycamore Shoals Drive Elizabethton, TN 37643.
