She was predeceased by: her parents, John Frederick and Letha Ann Yates Baird; her husband Cecil Penley; her son John Frederick "Freddie" Penley; and her granddaughter Letha Marie Snodgrass.
She is survived by: her children, Dale Penley (Paula), Cecilia Ann Simpson (Roger), Vanessa Snodgrass (Billy Joe, Jr.) of Hickory, NC and Terri Greenwell (Jack) of Bluffton, SC; her grandchildren, Justin Penley, Daniel Simpson, Amanda Simpson, Lauren Bassett-Penley (Daniel) of Blake Penley, B. J, Snodgrass III (Morgan), Lashay Dulaney (Robert) and Katie Greenwell (Stephen); and her great grandchildren, John Conley Snodgrass, Ryan Jennings, McKenzie Dulaney, Logan Dulaney, Raine Bledsoe and Mattie Bledsoe. She is also survived by three sisters and one brother.
