He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Blackburn and Dora Rita Blackburn (Grindstaff); his great grandchild Richard Killian Owens; his mother-in-law Myrtle Moody; and his brother-in-law Wayne Hicks.
He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Blackburn; his sons, Brian Blackburn, Chad Blackburn (Mandy) and Roy Lubag; his granddaughters, Brianna Owens and Allison Hampton (Hunter); his siblings, Albert Blackburn (Tammy) and Darlene Taylor (Carl); his sister-in-law Pat Moody Hicks; his cousins, Kenny Grindstaff and Charlie Grindstaff; his niece Sherry Tilson; and his friend Shirley Butler.
In lieu of flowers, please donated to Pinecrest Baptist Church and because of his love for children, you can also donate to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in honor of Basil.
