He was predeceased by: his parents, John Garst and Frances Collins Garst; and his siblings, Sue Copas, Donald, Roy and Michael Garst.
He is survived by: his wife Kathy Wilson Garst; his sons, Allan Garst (Jaime) of Limestone, Scotty Garst of Johnson City, TN and Tim Lamb of Johnson City, TN; his siblings, Dennis "Buster" Garst (Lois) of Jonesborough and Nancy Whitson (Roy) of Green Mountain, NC; his sisters-in-law, Dee Garst and Jolene Garst; his grandchildren, Kati Garst, Tatum Garst, Reagan Shockely, Riley Copas and Hudson Copas; and his daughter Sheila Lyons (Mark) of Johnson City. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that contributions be made to Milligan Freewill Baptist Church, Youth Group, P.O. Box 0-113, Milligan College, TN 37601.
