Charles William Meader Obituary
Charles William Meader, 70, Johnson City, passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at Lakebridge Health Care Center, following a lengthy illness.
Charles was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City. He was a son of the late Roy Thomas and Willie Lee Mottern Meader.
Charles was a U.S. Navy Vietnam era veteran, serving honorably from 1972 until 1978.
He was formerly employed in the Petroleum Industry.
Charles was of the Baptist faith.
He enjoyed building many things with his hands out of wood, doing jigsaw puzzles, and was very interested in the Native American Culture and pictures, or art, of wolves.
In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his younger brother, Jimmy.
He is survived by two brothers, Roy Meader, Gray, and Alvin Meader, Johnson City; one sister, Callie Aimetti and husband Joe, Kingsport; five nieces, Katie West and husband Tyler, Jamie Curl and husband Jared, all of Cullman, AL, Debbie Aimetti, Johnson City, Angelique Edelin, Orlando, FL, and Pamela Meader, Bristol, TN; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
The graveside funeral service for Charlie will be held Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at 2:00 P.M., at the Historic Site of Mountain Home National Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by the Veterans Honor Guard of the Tri-Cities. Friends are asked to meet at the cemetery by 1:50 P.M. Tuesday.
