She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Alexander and Frances Alexander; her grandparents, Jaffer, Corrie McKinney and Della Bell; her great-grandparent Elizabeth Rollins; her siblings, Odessa Johnson, Marion Brady, Thomas Alexander and Thaddeus Alexander; and her close friend Penny Hunter.

She is survived by: her children, Gerald E. Alexander and Heather D. Jeffries (Timothy C.) of Tuscaloosa, AL; her grandchildren, Corinna Dean of Nashville, David Alexander, Jordan Alexander (Brittany), J'Keeyah Alexander of Tuscaloosa, AL, Eric Burton, Jr. of Tuscaloosa, AL, Julius Alexander of Atlanta, GA and Kayden Hale; her great grandchildren, Michael Taylor, Tremont Stem, Journi Stem, Kyrie Stem, Khian Lewis, Dereon Alexander, Zayden Alexander, Alexis, Jamari and J'Mir Alexander; her aunt Lollie Surratt; her siblings, Mildred Smith of Herndon, VA, William Alexander (Kitt) of Waverly, TN, Martha Harris of Jonesborough, TN, Mary Latham (James) of College Park, GA and Mildred Williams of Herndon, VA; her close friend Emma White (George) of Johnson City; and her goddaughters, Lillie Hairston and Amyiah Henry of Tuscaloosa, AL. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, friends.
